Assignment Template
Research has done been on how different teaching strategies greatly impact the learning potential of students in reading and comprehension. The template discusses a number of ways that different kids learn and the ways that teachers can best take advantage. The template mentions that short steps are needed in order to take a student from requiring most assistance from the teacher to being able to complete reading and writing tasks on their own. Student's need to be able to focus on certain aspects of reading to prepare themselves for what the text might implicitly say. By developing good prereading skills like brainstorming or group discussion, teachers can help student's muster up ideas that they might normally have difficulty. By gaining insight on where and when a text was manufactured can help create a better understanding of what the author's perspective might be. Student's more often are growing impatient when it comes to reading and analyzing text because the lack of words they understand. Teaching more select key words that student's might struggle as they come across is another technique that might help prepare students for analyzing text, making reading feel less like a chore. All of these steps build into the larger beast of relating one concept of the world to others in their own lives. Without these basic skills, student's will not be able to summarize deeper meanings that authors are trying to tell us in subtle ways and apply that to their own experiences. The template also discusses the use and benefits of minimal marking in students work. Minimal marking suggests that teachers use the students as their tools to success by letting them correct the majority of major mistakes on their work. It allows the teacher to focus their time on different elements that could better their learning. I know I will be using this technique in my profession, not only because it will save me a lot of time, but it also challenges our students to continue to learn.
